The Fellowship Bridge Program provides funding for students completing summer research projects in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields. This program is open to students who have completed a degree program and are enrolling in a higher degree program at the same or a different NDSGC affiliate institution (This transition could be from AS to BS, BS to MS, BS to PhD, or MS to PhD.).
For example, a student who completed a two-year degree (AS) at Williston State College and is transferring to Dickinson State University (DSU) to complete a four-year degree (BS) in Mathematics would be eligible to complete a summer bridge fellowship under a DSU faculty mentor. Another example of a student eligible to apply would include a student who completed a four-year degree (BS) at Sitting Bull College (SBC) and is enrolling in the graduate program (MS) in Environmental Science at the same college. This student would be eligible to complete a summer bridge fellowship under an SBC faculty mentor.
Residency on campus to complete the research project is encouraged, but not required.
Students participating in the fellowship bridge program will receive a $3500 stipend for the summer.
