NDX-2 Planetary Space Suit Development
Planetary space suit research in North Dakota has been nurtured since 2004 and has already led to highly successful multi‐institution research programs, such as the NDX‐1 Mars planetary space suit, the NDX-2 Lunar Analog Suit, and the NDX-2AT (North Dakota eXperimental 2 Analog Testing) analog planetary base suit. These planetary analog suits are currently the only functional suits that are being developed at the university level.
The NDSGC has continued to fund these efforts to ensure success of the program and to garner hands-on experience for the students involved.
