Affiliate Mini-Grants

Affiliate mini-grants are available to NDSGC affiliate representatives who are hosting, or participating in, research or education events related to STEM and/or NASA and students. Affiliate mini-grants may also be applied towards college-level initiatives, such as materials funding for their STEM courses and student research, or travel funding for their college students to participate in field research related to STEM courses. Faculty and students must be directly involved in the programming to be eligible for a mini-grant. Student and/or faculty stipends are unallowable. Funds must be spent within the semester they are awarded.

Funding

• Up to $2,500

Eligibility

• The affiliate member must be teaching at an NDSGC Affiliate College or University
• Students must be directly involved in, or directly benefit from, proposed activities
• The affiliate member must be a U.S. Citizen if receiving direct funding (contact the NDSGC team with questions)
• The affiliate member may be awarded every two years (e.g. if an affiliate received a mini grant in the fall of 2025, they would be eligible to reapply in the fall of 2027)
• Affiliate members from non-R1 research institutions are highly encouraged to submit a proposal

Applications open one month prior to deadline:

• Spring: November 1^st
• Summer: March 1^st
• Fall: May 1^st
