Activities

The North Dakota Space Grant Consortium provides STEM lesson plans, STEM activities, classroom visits, at-home STEM Kits, other activities, and a virtual tour of the University of North Dakota Space Suit lab on our
Wix site.

The NDSGC will share NASA lead team challenge opportunities available for your students. The challenges range from Plant the Moon Challenge, App Development Challenge, Human Exploration Rover Challenge, Micro-gravity Neutral Buoyancy Experiment Design Team, etc. See our funding page to help support the challenges.

Lesson Plans

The NDSGC uses various STEM and NASA lesson plans in K-12 STEM engagements, educators professional development workshops, and community events. Many of these activities are inquiry-based, hands-on activities, and involve working in teams. The NDSGC invites educators to use these lessons as presented or to adapt them to meet their students' needs. Reach out the the NDSGC team with any questions.

Classroom Visits

Classroom visits are often conducted by NDSGC STEM Ambassadors (North Dakota college students).  Read more about the STEM Ambassadors. STEM Ambassadors often lead hands-on STEM lessons in the classroom. Some of the possible lesson plans that the NDSGC often uses can be found on the "Lesson Plans" page. Classroom visits must be requested 4-6 weeks in advance.

Challenges

NASA provides different types of challenges for educators to bring real-world engagement to their classroom. Some of the challenges are:

  • Plant the Moon
  • Artemis Moon Tree Seedlings
  • App Development Challenge
