STEM Ambassador Program
STEM Ambassadors during training
The NDSGC STEM Ambassador is responsible for inspiring and engaging students, educators, and the community in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As a representative of the North Dakota Space Grant, the STEM Ambassador will promote STEM education, organize outreach activities, and serve as a mentor to foster interest and awareness in STEM subjects. This role requires enthusiasm, communication skills, and a passion for helping others discover the possibilities within STEM careers.
Funding
- $18.00/hr, up to 20 hours per week
Eligibility
The student:
- must be enrolled at an NDSGC Affiliate College or University
- must be a U.S. Citizen
- must be in good academic standing
- must be a college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student actively enrolled in classes for the fall 2025 and spring 2026 academic terms
- must have the ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per 2-week pay period, or commit to 3 outreach events per month (whichever is preferable for the student's schedule)

Please reference the application guidance for more details. In addition to the application below, students will need to complete the UND STEM Ambassador Application. Students offered a STEM Ambassador position will need to complete all paperwork provided by UND Human Resources (HR). This includes finding a notary in your area if you are unable to meet with HR on the UND campus. Contact the NDSGC team with questions.
