Travel Grants

The NDSGC is not accepting travel grant applications at this time.

Students who will be presenting their STEM or NASA-relevant research at a conference, attending a STEM professional development workshop, or participating in an interactive STEM conference are eligible to apply for travel assistance from the NDSGC to cover associated costs (e.g. airfare, ground transportation, per diem, lodging, registration, etc.). Virtual registration fee requests are accepted. International travel is not supported. Students are eligible to receive one travel grant per degree program (for example, students who received a travel grant during their associate's program would be eligible to reapply during their bachelor's program). Travel grant applications are due at least six weeks prior to the conference or workshop that is being attended. If a travel grant is awarded, travel and funding arrangements must be made at least two weeks prior to the conference or workshop being attended. Please note that NDSGC funds are limited and are awarded competitively. Each travel grant request is limited to $2,500 and is assessed individually. Students are allowed to submit one travel grant application per semester until they have a meritorious submission.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be citizens of the United States who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program as a student at one of the NDSGC affiliated institutions
  • Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.00
  • The research to be presented must be in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Students must be actively participating in the conference/workshop (e.g. participating in interactive professional development, presenting original research, etc.)

Please contact the NDSGC team with any travel grant-related questions.
