Student Fellowships
The NDSGC provides funding for North Dakota students to complete research fellowships at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States who are, or will be, enrolled students at one of the NDSGC affiliate colleges. Students' degree programs should be in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). The number of fellowships available each semester will vary depending on the current NDSGC budget. Students may view a list of highlighted past research topics.
Research fellowships are available to students completing NASA-relevant research in a STEM field under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Awards are offered throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Students are eligible to receive only two fellowships per degree program (i.e. an undergraduate student could receive two fellowships and two more as a graduate student). Students are expected to spend around 15 hours per week on their research projects.

* Graduate students receiving ½ GA appointments are not eligible for fellowships; graduate students earning a ¼ GA appointment are eligible for partial fellowships.
Eligibility
- US Citizen
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Student enrolled at an NDSGC affiliate college or university
- Relevance of the student's discipline and interests to STEM fields

Application Guidance and Responsibilities
- Mid-way through the semester, the NDSGC team will send student fellows a mid-semester progress report. At the end of the semester, students will complete a final report form (both implemented through Submittable).
- Students must acknowledge the contribution of the NDSGC in any posters or public presentations.
- Fellowship recipients must do their best to present their research results at the annual NDSGC Affiliates Meeting, which changes location in North Dakota every year (or is virtual). The NDSGC covers travel costs for on-campus students. Distance students may be asked to give an online presentation.
